Janika Lexus has been working at Club Heat in Soul City long enough to know the ropes. She knows her way around town and if there’s one thing she’s discovered, it’s that the seemingly peaceful Soul City is no walk in the park.

As if there weren’t enough paranormal threats, rumor has it that the metropolis has been invaded by Fire Vampires, a terrifying species of vampire that holds allegiance to no other, said to originate from hell itself.

There’s only one way for a human gal to get any kind of safety in Soul City—Janika must pick a pack of shifters as her mates in order to win their protection. And despite her rigid commitment to never commit, Janika can’t help but wonder if she’ll end up winning the heart of Lance, who seems to stand apart from the pack in a way she hasn’t yet unraveled.

Be Warned: menage sex (MFMMM), multiple partners, orgies, anal sex

Review:

Plot: 3. This Romance on the Go novella revolves around Janika, a young bartender in the town of Soul City Florida – a city ran rampant with just about every kind of paranormal being imaginable. There are vampires, werewolves, shifters, and other demonic creatures. Looking for protection from said creatures, Janika decides to become a pack mate with a group of Tiger Shifters. Of course they’re not your average shifters, they’re ridiculously hot and sexy. Mmmm… the best kind!

Sex: 4. In order to become a pack mate with the Tigers, Janika decides the best way to be come a pack mate is to bed all of the members. Did I mention there are four members? Woo Hoo! The sex was ridiculously dirty and including all the things you imagine would happen with four guys in one girl – oral, anal, double penetration – the works.

Overall: 3. While normally, I don’t find short stories all that great, this one actually worked for me. The plot was original and surprisingly, I connected with the characters. I think I would enjoy seeing this book expanded into a series. It was hot and heavy from start to finish and kept me turning pages.

Holiday Party Blog Hop: Everything Bared by Kristine Cayne

by Kristine Cayne

Blurb:
Two polar opposites–she’s kinky, he’s uptight–discover they share a taboo desire that may destroy both their futures.

Firefighter Dani Harris has always wanted a family, but doesn’t think it’s possible because of her demanding, high-stakes career. Her sex life is as high-adrenaline as her job, and that’s just one more thing that makes her unsuitable to be a wife and mother. Her secret kink–exhibitionism–has gotten in the way of more than one relationship. Will she ever find a man who not only shares her wild fantasies, but loves her for them?

Burdened with ensuring the success of the struggling family business, William Caldwell IV needs a wife suited for a CEO–one with money and connections, who can manage his busy social life and raise their 2.5 children. He’s got everything all mapped out, but when he meets Dani, a woman who’s every kind of wrong, she taps into desires he’s only half-recognized and long-suppressed. Suddenly his carefully crafted five-year plan feels as confining as a straightjacket.

As Dani and Will’s sexual experimentation escalates, they test the limits of polite society by baring all and risking exposure–an exposure that could cost them their reputations and careers.

Erotic romance, 18+

Review:

Sex: 5 Hot, crazy, brilliant and satisfying are only words. But that is what I am using to describe the sexual interaction between the main characters. In the beginning we see Will’s need to be adventurous. Then when Dani moves in with him he and she can experiment with their uninhibited and fantastic desires. And that leads to my favorite scene in the entire book. It involves a leather chair and rope, that is all I am going to say.

Plot: 3 The plot revolved around society and what is acceptable, blackmail, embezzlement, arson (gotta have it when there are firefighters around), gangs and possible mob hits. I really thought it got to be too much happening toward the end. Two things got resolved the relationship and the initial problem. All the other conflicts start to take away from them and turn your attention to other people. But my guess all this conflict will be a build up to other stories down the line. I just wish maybe some of it could have been encapsulated in a short after this book to lead to another build in the story arch.

Overall Enjoyment: 4 I really enjoyed this story. It had all my favorite things, violence, sex, firefighters, plot, and hot sex. I would definitely recommend this new to me author to anyone looking for a new read. I am actually going back to read the other books from her. We met some characters in this story that have interesting back-stories that I must read.

On an off note: I did have a problem with the PRC format for ereaders –I use Cool reader on my android. Formatting had some problems, missing sentences and words. I hope that gets fixed or at least looked at. Then again it could have been just my ereader app. Since it wouldn’t load to kindle I had to download another ereader app. Amazon and myself are not on good terms right now.

Review: Wanting the Neighbor’s Daughter By: Sam Crescent

WTND2__41770.1374104968.300.450Wanting the Neighbor’s Daughter

Romance on the Go series

by Sam Crescent

Erotic Romance, MF

Evernight Publishing

Blurb:

Luke Reynolds desires his neighbor’s daughter, Kimberly. His feelings for her have grown over the years he’s known her, and now she’s twenty and he can’t deny her anything.

Kimberly has had a crush on her neighbor for a long time. He’s a womanizer and he’d never look at her twice.

One weekend house-sitting for her parents, both of their lives are about to change. Neither knows about their true feelings, but after this weekend Luke and Kimberly will not have a choice. Can their love survive her father’s wrath? And can Luke wait for Kimberly to make her his?

Plot: 3. Oh the old taboo of a younger woman wanting the sexy older man, made even more taboo by him being the next door neighbor who is famous for one-night stands and going through women like Kleenex. Kimberly is a 20 year old college student who has been asked by her parents to house sit for the weekend. Kimberly couldn’t be more excited about the request and is hoping to get a little alone time with her hot neighbor. Luke Reynolds has lusted after Kimberly since she was too young to touch is wickedly excited about getting to know Kimberly and proving to her that he is done with his old ways. After Kimberly catches him and his “flavor of the week” having sex, he realized that no other woman does it for him like Kimberly and he’s ready to make a commitment and settle down with the woman he has loved from afar for the past several years.

Sex: 4. The few scenes in this novella are very hot and very descriptive. This is quite a dirty book and left me feeling satisfied.

Overall: 3. While the story line isn’t that original and is a bit predictable, I still found it entertaining. It does exactly what a Romance on the Go novella is supposed to do – satisfy your need for a lunchtime quickie.

Review: Bold Tricks (The Artist Trilogy #3) by: Karina Halle

Bold Tricks (The Artists Trilogy, #3)Bold Tricks

The Artist Trilogy

by Karina Halle

New Adult, Erotic Romance

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Blurb:

With more lives at stake and games in motion, Ellie, Camden and Javier form an uneasy alliance that will take them from the treacherous streets of inner-city Mexico to the wilds of the Honduran jungles in order to find their freedom. But with liberty just on the horizon, the cost might come at their own redemption.

**If you haven’t read Sins & Needles and Shooting Scars, STOP NOW! This review contains spoilers**

I’ve been saying for quite some time that I’m tired of trilogies. It hurts me to have to wait months on end to see what happens next. I’m impatient. The anticipation kills me and usually when I read I want instant gratification, a couple of hours of escape and an ending HEA or not—I need some sort of closure.

I “liked” Sins & Needles, but I didn’t love it. I wasn’t going to even read Shooting Scars because I thought “Ugh, do I really want to bother with ANOTHER trilogy?” I stuck with it though. I’m such a huge fan of Karina’s work that I pressed on and finished Shooting Scars. (Loved it! Gave it a 5-Star review!) And so this brings us to today. Having downloaded and read Bold Tricks in one sitting. Couldn’t wait to get it. Dying to know how it was all going to play out and end. I’m almost in tears because it’s over. I absolutely fell in love with this series and can’t believe I almost didn’t continue with it. What an idiot I am sometimes.

Plot: 5. Bold Tricks picks up right where Shooting Scars left us. Ellie, Camden and Javier together in the jeep having just escaped Travis’ compound. Awkward doesn’t even begin to describe the feeling inside that jeep. As awkward as it is, they know that they have to work together to achieve their goals and survive. Zooming through the crowded streets of Mexico, running from drug cartels, Ellie and her boys didn’t seem to stop and are in constant danger, while trying to save Gus and Ellie’s mother (I don’t know why really. Evil witch that she is!) and kill Travis. Besides the action, this story is packed full of emotion. (Nothing like a heart-wrenching love triangle to keep me interested!) Ellie’s situation is so tragic. Sure, she has to accept the responsibility for her actions, but it’s not like the poor girl was really given a fair shake from the beginning. It’s easy to sit back and judge, but do you REALLY know what you’d do if you were in situations similar to hers? I suspect not. Survival is a primal instinct and you do what you have to do to survive. And that’s exactly what Ellie did. She didn’t mean to fall in love with two men. She didn’t mean to break their hearts. It was an unintended consequence—one that has scarred her as much as the acid did her leg. What will poor Ellie do? She will do whatever it takes to survive not only her current situation, but to be able to finally live happily ever after.

Sex: 5. I’m giving it a five because while there isn’t a ton of sex in the book, it’s the good kind. The scenes were wrought full of passion, tension and emotion. I never once felt that they were just gratuitous sex scene. No, these were the types of scenes that have purpose, are so meaningful that they make me cry and make me love romance novels. It couldn’t have been more perfect.

Overall: 5. The word AMAZING really isn’t an accurate enough description for this book. I can think of about 100 more, sublime, excellent, outstanding, heart-breaking, frustrating, consuming and so on and so on. This book really has everything and after all the questions have been answered, all the pieces to the puzzle have been set into place, the book ends with perfection.

It’s probably a bit silly or cliché, but after having read Bold Tricks, I feel complete. I cannot thank Karina Halle for sharing one of the best series I’ve ever read. **sniff, sniff. I’m so sad it’s over.**
