Dating the Prince of Darkness has its challenges . . .
Leila’s psychic abilities have been failing her,and now she isn’t sure what the future holds. If that weren’t enough, her lover Vlad has been acting distant. Though Leila is a mere mortal, she’s also a modern woman who refuses to accept the cold shoulder treatment forever–especially from the darkly handsome vampire who still won’t admit that he loves her.
Like choosing between eternal love and a loveless eternity . . .
Soon circumstances send Leila back to the carnival circuit, where tragedy strikes. And when she finds herself in the cross hairs of a killer who may be closer than she realizes, Leila must decide who to trust–the fiery vampire who arouses her passions like no other, or the tortured knight who longs to be more than a friend? With danger stalking her every step of the way, all it takes is one wrong move to damn her for eternity . . .
I have to say I wasn’t very happy with this book. It seems that it took a very long time for the plot to get where we’re going. Towards the end, the ending of the chapters seemed like the end of the book. But it kept going. By the time that I actually got to the end of the book my brain was confused. The story climaxed it had a satisfying ending but it kept going yes they were and resolve the issues but that could have taken it into the next book. I was stopped it at maybe three quarters into the actual book and it would have been fine for me.
The sex in the book seems forced lacking that moment or “je ne ce quoi”. Yes I know that was the way he had to treat her to make this story evolve. It still does not make it right. It just shows that women stay will put up with anything. And I don’t like that Leila had to settle.
This whole book was just frustrating for me from the beginning to the end. Don’t get me wrong I love the characters I love the author I just didn’t like this book as much as her others.
