Kept
by Zoe Winters
Greta is a werecat whose tribe plans to sacrifice her during the next full moon. Her only hope for survival is Dayne, a sorcerer who once massacred most of the tribe. What’s that thing they say about the enemy of your enemy?
Zoe Winters has started a trilogy of paranormal romance novellas. In her first novella she writes about a woman, Greta, whose destiny is to die unless she gets and evil sorcerer, Dayne, to help her and protect her. Along the way they fell in love. Then the betrayal of parents and the threat of doom start to complicate their relationship. Though with the help of an unexpected “friend” the day is saved, but all is far from well.

I believe in the other two novellas Ms. Winters might go further in to the ultimate plot that may encompass all the characters that we have been introduced to so far. I think it’s a good book. It was just really involved these two main characters Greta and Dayne. Dayne is a bitter old man, old in age but not in looks. He is just as bitter too. Greta is not naïve she is a grown woman that has weighed the pros and the cons of bartering for protection from her pack. Even though the book is short the characters have no lack of development. They feel real and act like a real person to me and it took me by surprise when I got to the end of the book. My mind screamed “That is it? What the heck?” I needed to know more. So I am enthusiastically waiting for the rest of the series to come out. You can find her blogging at http://zoewinters.wordpress.com/
